Every Friday night there is a free night drum jam at the South Florida Center for Percussive Arts but on Friday, Jan. 30, and also Saturday, Jan. 31, there will be an additional free event.

It is a two-day multi-sensory family-friendly festival entitled Chameleon Immersive Drum + Tech Experience from 6-10 p.m. each night that will merge cutting-edge technology, live music with an art installation and multi-sensory performances by South Florida Center for Percussive Arts students and Boston-based hybrid artist Greg Jukes. Although the event is free RSVP is required.
Taking place both indoors and outdoors, attendees will be treated to four intimate performances with the outdoors featuring a stage and large-scale video canvas while indoors will feature a 360-degree live music and visual setting. The brainchild of composer/perscussionist/new media artist Maria Finkelmeier, technology within the space will take the performer’s pulse, movement and brainwave data and transform them into visual and sonic compositions.
