Here are vocal and instrumental groups in South Florida, from Miami to Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach. Most require auditions to join.

For most of these groups, professional music experience is not required. Some require singers and instrumentalists to read music and others do not. Click through to the websites for details on membership requirements and rehearsal times.

- Florida Singing Sons. Boys ages 7 to 18. Meets in Oakland Park.
- Girl Choir of South Florida. Girls ages 6 to 18. Meets in Fort Lauderdale.
- Miami Children’s Chorus. Boys and girls ages 8 to 18. Meets near South Miami.
For Instrumentalists
- Alhambra Orchestra
- South Florida Pride Band
- Greater Miami Symphonic Band
- New Directions Chamber Winds. Symphonic orchestral music in a chamber wind ensemble setting. Based at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Boca Raton
- New River Orchestra
- Broward Symphony Orchestra.
For Young Instrumentalists
- Greater Miami Youth Symphony. Ages 5 to 18.
- Camerata di Magdalena. Baroque ensembles that meets in Coral Springs and raises money to feed the homeless.
Talents Unleashed Groups
- Aureus is for young adults. Auditions begin in April for a summer performance season of an original musical theater style show.
- Vessels of GOLD is a performing group for teens. A homeschooling schedule would be necessary for flexibility. Auditions will open and close in May.
- Vessels Vault is for teens and is primarily dedicated to learning acting for film, videotaping and video editing. Auditions open in May.
- GOLD in Harmony is a show choir for ages 12+. Auditions open in May.
- Acts of GOLD is a new theater group that meets and performs in 3-month increments. Auditions for the fall group open in May.
- Chrysos is a performing group for 9-12 year olds that present original musical theater style shows. They meet in 3-month increments. Auditions for fall open in May.
- Nuggets of GOLD is a performing group for 6-9 year olds that present original musical shows. They meet in 3-month increments. Auditions for fall open in May.
- Memories of GOLD is for performers of all ages who have a heart for the elderly. Music is selected that is most meaningful to our elder population. Auditions are encouraged, but not required.
